2006 - 2007 was a strong year for JANY. We raised $4 million dollars for its programs, and ended this year with a surplus. With this money, 4,100 JANY volunteers reached nearly 92,000 students across New York City and Long Island, through in-classroom programs, after-school activities, and workplace experiences.
Junior Achievement of New York, Inc. (JANY) was founded and incorporated in 1929 as a New York State nonprofit corporation, which provides financial education programs free of charge to students in New York City and Long Island, helping them to gain a fundamental understanding of business, economics, and entrepreneurship. JANY's mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JANY is a not-for-profit tax-exempt corporation under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and is a publicly supported organization as defined by Sections 170(b) (1) (A) (vi) and 509 (a) of the Code. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent permissible under law.
