TV'S ULTIMATE JOB SHADOW CANDIDATE APPOINTED 2007 JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF NEW YORK GROUNDHOG JOB SHADOW DAY AMBASSADOR
DR. RANDAL PINKETT, 4TH SEASON WINNER OF THE APPRENTICE ENCOURAGES BIG APPLE AND LONG ISLAND BUSINESSES TO INSPIRE YOUNG PEOPLE TO SUCCEED IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY

NEW YORK, NY - November 15, 2006 - Junior Achievement of New York (JANY), the local affiliate of JA Worldwide, a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy, announced today that Randal Pinkett, Ph.D., 4th Season winner of Donald Trump's hit reality TV show, "The Apprentice" and Chairman/CEO, BCT Partners, has been named as the official New York City and Long Island Ambassador for the February 2, 2007 annual New York Groundhog Job Shadow Day event, sponsored by Best Buy Children's Foundation and ING.

Groundhog Job Shadow Day is part of a nationwide Job Shadow program in which thousands of students, nationwide, shadow and learns from high profile business and civic leaders while getting a chance to experience what a typical day on the job is like. The Junior Achievement Job Shadow program opens up new career opportunities and avenues of success to students.

We're thrilled to be working with Dr. Pinkett," says JANY President, Doug Schallau. "Randal is a perfect role model for our students. He has a history of working with and on behalf of young people; he's a successful businessman and entrepreneur; he has an impressive academic background and you could say that he himself is the ultimate "job shadow student." As a winner of "The Apprentice" he too has spent a year shadowing and learning from businessman Donald Trump."

Junior Achievement of New York is confident that Randal's appointment to the Groundhog Job Shadow Day Ambassador role can only add value and draw attention to a high impact program that has made a positive impact on countless students in New York City and Long Island. Doug Schallau continues, "With Randal's support, we hope to encourage more business people to open up their workplace to students for a day so that they learn how success in the classroom is connected to success in the workplace and success in life."

ABOUT DR. RANDAL PINKETT
Prior to his appearance on NBC's The Apprentice, Pinkett had established himself as an entrepreneur, speaker, author, and scholar and community servant. He is the Co-Founder, Chairperson and CEO of BCT Partners, a multimillion-dollar management, technology and policy-consulting firm based in Newark, NJ. In addition, Dr. Pinkett holds five academic degrees, Dr. Pinkett holds five academic degrees including a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University; Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from Oxford University, England as a Rhodes Scholar; Master of Science (S.M.) in Electrical Engineering from the MIT School of Engineering and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the MIT Sloan School of Management as a participant in the MIT Leaders for Manufacturing (LFM) Program; and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the MIT Media Laboratory. Most notably, Dr. Pinkett made history as the first African-American ever to receive a Rhodes Scholarship at Rutgers University. Dr. Pinkett is also a published writer and academic scholar, in addition to more than 20 papers and articles he has authored chapters in four books including: Managing IT/Community Partnerships in the 21st Century; Journey to the Ph.D.: How to Navigate the Process as African-Americans; Community Practice in the Network Society: Local Action/Global Interaction; and The Network Society: A Cross-cultural Perspective. His 6th book, Campus CEO: The Student Entrepreneur's Guide to Launching a Multimillion Dollar Business will be published in February, 2007.

ABOUT BEST BUY CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION
The Best Buy Children's Foundation (BBCF) has been helping to improve the quality of life for school-aged children since 1994. To date, the BBCF has awarded more than $3 million in grants to innovative youth programs that promote personal achievement, mentor relationships and life skills. The BBCF is funded primarily by the Best Buy Charity Classic, an annual pro-am golf tournament featuring LPGA Tour players. Last year's Charity Classic raised $1.34 million, making the event the largest golf charity fundraiser in Minnesota and one of the largest events of its kind in the country. The BBCF does not have an endowment, so all money raised directly supports youth programs.
