STAFF OFFICERS

Douglas E. Schallau, President

Doug Schallau is in his twenty-eighth year as a Junior Achievement staff professional. He currently serves as President of Junior Achievement of New York (JANY), a position he has held since 1990. In this position, Mr. Schallau is responsible for all strategic direction and operational implementation for the JA area that encompasses the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island. Prior to his current position, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for JANY. Prior to coming to New York in 1986, he served as National Development Director for the National Headquarters for Junior Achievement. Prior to that position, he served in a number of positions of increased responsibility for Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest. Mr. Schallau started his JA career as President of Junior Achievement of the Tri-States in Dubuque, IA in 1978.

Mr. Schallau has received numerous team and individual JA awards including the Charles R. Hook Award, which recognizes career achievement and is conferred annually to one JA professional.

Mr. Schallau holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Marketing from Loras College in Dubuque. He is a resident of Fairfield, CT with his wife Kate, a kindergarten teacher, his daughter Maggie who is a senior at Villanova University, and his son Mike who is a senior in high school.

Lisa Castillo Richmond, Senior Vice President, Programs

Lisa Castillo Richmond is the Senior Vice President of Programs at Junior Achievement of New York. In this role, Ms. Castillo Richmond has oversight for all JANY programming in New York City and Long Island, including in-school, after-school, and summer programming and additional educational workplace experiences for students.

Ms. Castillo Richmond oversees the strategic direction of all programming at JANY, focusing her efforts on building new partnerships while strengthening existing ones within the educational and business sectors.

Another key component of her work responsibility is concerned with the evaluation of existing programs to ensure their continued relevance and effectiveness. She leads a dedicated and talented team of 16 JANY program staff.

As of spring 2006, Ms. Castillo Richmond also has strategic oversight for the JANY Hispanic Initiative - an exciting new initiative to enable JANY to increase its outreach to first-generation Hispanic students in New York City and Long Island. What makes this program unique is that students will receive JA's business and economics programming, taught by Hispanic role models.

The Hispanic Initiative programming also places an additional focus on the importance of bilingualism, the value of staying in school, and the role of the family as an economic unit. Emphasis will be placed on engaging parents and community through the activation of a special parental component.

Ms. Castillo Richmond attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, where she worked for Aurora Health Care in the Business and Market Development Department and the Service Learning Program. While at Marquette, Ms. Castillo Richmond spent one semester studying at the Complutense in Madrid. After graduating from Marquette in 2002 with a B.A. in Public Relations and minors in Marketing and Spanish for the Professions, Ms. Castillo Richmond moved to New York to pursue a career in economic education with Junior Achievement of New York as a Volunteer Relationships Manager.

For the past three years, Ms. Castillo Richmond has served as Vice President of Programs for Community Partnerships, where she oversaw all non-traditional programming for JANY in the five boroughs of NYC. She is currently pursuing a certificate in Non-Governmental Organizations & Global Affairs from New York University.

Sandra Lief Garrett, Senior Vice President/Chief Advancement Officer

Sandra Lief Garret has responsibility for all fundraising initiatives, other than through special events, as well as raising awareness of Junior Achievement of New York, with oversight of all marketing, communications, and public relations. As Senior Vice President, Ms. Garrett serves on the Leadership Council helping to guide the strategic direction of the organization.

Ms. Garrett joined Junior Achievement of New York in 2005, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the not-for-profit and public sectors. In the not-for-profit sector, Ms. Garrett previously served as executive director of a national women's organization, executive director of a woman's foundation, and associate executive vice president for planning and development of a refugee resettlement and immigrant services agency. Ms. Garrett's career in the public sector includes senior management positions in the federal government, including regional director of the Refugee Resettlement Program for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and project manager for the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as experience in city government as a program and policy analyst for the New York City Economic Development Administration.

Ms. Garrett has a Bachelor of Arts degree with High Honors from Simmons College and a Certificate in Not-for-Profit Management from the Columbia University School of Business.

Chris Hemmer, Senior Vice President — Events

Chris Hemmer is in his seventh year as a Junior Achievement professional. In addition to his current accountabilities, Mr. Hemmer is responsible for events organization-wide, including New York City and Long Island.

Prior to his current responsibilities Mr. Hemmer held various roles at JANY including VP, Development; VP, Special Events, Director; Special Events; Development Account Executive; and Special Events Assistant. Mr. Hemmer holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Wilkes University.

Kenneth Schwab, Senior Vice President - Finance & Administration

Lori Arloff, Vice President — Programs

Lori Arloff is responsible for all JANY programming on Long Island and provides assistance as needed to the Development and Events departments with regard to funding opportunities on Long Island.

Ms. Arloff joined Junior Achievement in 1999 when she was appointed to the position of Manager of Long Island Operations with primary responsibility for bringing JA programs to the schools of Nassau and Suffolk counties. Previously she held the positions of Director and Senior Director. Before her tenure at Junior Achievement of New York, Ms. Arloff practiced law in the areas of trusts and estates as well as professional liability litigation.

Ms. Arloff holds a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School and a Bachelor's degree from Boston University.
