MATCHING GIFT PROGRAMS

Many employers are willing to make matching donations on all charitable contributions of their staff members and retirees, sometimes even extending the privilege to company spouses.

If you're not certain whether your employer has a matching gift program in place, search the database at matchinggifts.com to see if it shows up, or ask your company's Human Resources division if such a program exists. If not, your request could provide the perfect incentive for the company to create a matching gift program.

If your company is willing to match your charitable donation, they should have a "matching gift" form available for you to fill out, which you can mail, e-mail or fax to:

MAIL:

ATTN:Development: Matching Gifts
Junior Achievement of York
205 East 42nd Street, Suite 203
New York, NY 10017

EMAIL: development@jany.org

FAX: 212-949-5262 / ATTN: Development: Matching Gifts

You don't need to work for a company with a matching gift program to double your donation, though: some companies are willing to match donations for their consumers:

GoodSearch is a Yahoo powered search engine that donates 50% of its revenue, about a penny per search, to listed American charities and schools designated by its users.

GoodShop is a GoodSearch affiliate - it's an online shopping mall. GoodShop has affiliations with more than 1,300 online retailers. A percentage of each GoodShop purchase is donated to the user's designated charity or school.
